Job Description
Under supervision, provides language translation services to patients, their families and staff for an array of medical documents including, but not limited to, patient education materials, hospital forms, patient letters, medical consents, medical records, etc.

Minimum Education 
Bachelor's Degree

Specific Requirements and Preferences 
Translation, Linguistics or Related Field

Minimum Work Experience 
3 Year(s)

Specific Requirements and Preferences 
Minimum of 3 years experience as a translator. Experience translating a wide array of medical related documents preferred

Required Skills/Knowledge 
Bilingual capability and certified in Spanish Language Translation

Functional Accountabilities 

Promotes Appropriate Utilization of Translation Services by Staff 
  1. Educates staff in the process of how to appropriately request translation services
  2. Maintains l communication at all times with internal and external customers regarding progress, deliverables, delays, etc
  3. Works closely with other departments providing recommendations
  4. Uses resources efficiently in order to maximize productivity and maintain costs low
  5. Collaborates with the Manager of Patient and Family Education to streamline process
Contributes to a Well-Organize Program 
  1. Translates requests in a timely fashion to meet requestor needs and datelines
  2. Maintains required logs/tracking system in order to track project progress and productivity
  3. Maintains translation statistics and performs analysis of program utilization and other metrics
  4. Coordinates distribution of assignment based on program needs
  5. Efficiently utilizes tools available to provide translations of the highest quality
  6. Manages own time to be productive
  7. Maintains archives and databases related to translation projects
