CNS is seeking a Software Engineer to lead one of many small development teams in supporting our ever-evolving SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who are passionate about designing robust, maintainable, and innovative solutions to software and user interface needs. Responsibilities include leading and contributing in developing web applications, helping to translate business needs into modern software solutions, maintaining and enhancing existing applications, debugging production issues, customizing delivered functionality, and developing integration with other systems including web services. This position will be located at the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, TX. The location requirement will be noted in the specific hiring requisition. Travel may be required but is minimal.

Minimum Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a relevant degree and 4 years of relevant experience or Masters degree.
  • Twelve or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting
Preferred Job Requirements
  • Experience in Object Oriented Programming/Design, Web Development, Database programming, debugging
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, SQL technologies
  • Experience in ABAP development and ABAP Objects
  • Experience in Web Services (SOAP and REST), and client-side JavaScript frameworks like React, UI5, or Angluar
  • Experience in designing, maintaining, and implementing large scale enterprise business applications is desired, especially experience with SAP products
  • Experience with Agile SCRUM development projects
  • Practical knowledge of change management processes is a plus, e.g., Git, CI/CD pipelines, SAP transports
  • Links to existing projects are welcome e.g., Github profile
  • Oracle or other relational database management systems with experience in SQL.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop robust and maintainable code with clear documentation
  • Strong understanding of Object Oriented Design concepts such as inheritance, composition, and encapsulation, as well as the MVC design pattern.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
