Salary Range: $69,584 - $76,854 based on a 9 month contract, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: 4 courses (60% teaching), exempt.

Anticipated semester of hire: Spring 2024 or Fall 2024.

Essential Functions











Responsibilities:

The School of Architecture + Planning at UTSA is seeking applications for full-time, fixed-term track (FTT) faculty positions beginning in the Spring or Fall 2024. This is a 9-month position. Summer salary stipends are contingent to workload requirements. The workload is 60% teaching, 40% service. The school is seeking faculty to teach university-level courses such as Transportation Planning, History & Theory of Urban and Regional Planning, Land Use Planning, GIS and Data Analysis, Planning Workshop. Responsibilities include serving as Graduate Advisor of Record for the MSURP program and URP Certificate, Strategic Planning, student advising, awards, and fellowships, internal and external communication, class scheduling, internship coordinator, student organization advisor.

Required Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning or related field.
  • Record of excellence in supporting professional development for all.





Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Urban and Regional Planning, or relevant disciplines, is preferred.
  • Record of excellence in university-level teaching is preferred.
  • Record of excellence in program-level service is preferred.
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification is preferred.

Working Condition
  • Primary work location will be on UTSA Downtown Campus.



This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
