What does the job involve?

The Welder/Fabricator safely positions, aligns and fits together fabricated parts, plates, piping and weldments and then welds product using a variety of processes and procedures.

What will my responsibilities include?

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Adheres to all safety rules and uses proper personal protective equipment.
2. Reports unsafe hazards or conditions.
3. Able to comprehend drawings and blueprints of subassemblies.
4. Holds, positions and reads tape measure to accurate layout.
5. Places and moves blocking, braces and jigs to hold parts in position.
6. Hammers wedges, turns turnbuckles, pulls pry bars, uses cranes to align parts.
7. Grinds and gouges rough edges, surplus weld or scale.
8. Cleans work area, machines, tools and equipment.
9. Performs other duties and assignments as directed by Management.

What key skills and experience do I need?

1. A minimum of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School Diploma. Associates Degree from an accredited welding technology program preferred.
2. Must have good organizational and communication skills and ability to work well with external and internal customers, must be able to read and write in English.
3. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals with ability to compute rate and read a tape measure well.
4. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
5. Must be able to pass a pulmonary function exam and respirator breathing/fit test.
6. Previous fork lift certification/license desired but not required.

1. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment that requires the management of multiple projects at one time.
2. Excellent writing and communication skills.
3. Excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to complete a task or project, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
4. Excellent professional demeanor and ability to collaborate with other departments
