Parking and Transportation Services (PATS) has an opening for a Transport
Vehicle Service Technician. Our transportation team transports 1.5
million students, faculty, staff and visitors to and from the University annually.
As one of the first University departments encountered by many guests and
visitors, our employees play an important role in the University's community
outreach efforts and public relations.
The successful candidate is considered a professional and has day-to-day
responsibilities requiring the skills needed to inspect, diagnosis and maintain
transit vehicle and associated equipment. To be considered for this position,
you must possess a New Mexico Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the
Passenger and Air Brake Endorsements, have at least three (3) years prior
experience in mass transit vehicle maintenance, be able to use automotive
diagnostic equipment and hand power tools.

Performs or assists in the performance of daily safety and service inspections,
routine system diagnoses, and basic maintenance and/or repairs on university mass transit and related
vehicles. Cleans, details, fuels, and road tests all vehicles in the fleet on a
regular basis.
This position may require overtime and occasional weekend hours. Coverage hours for UNM Shuttle Services are 5 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday-Friday with additional special events coverage in the evenings and on the weekends.

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
