Salary Range: $80,653-$97,011 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: up to 40 hours per week, exempt.
  • 3 courses in Fall and 3 courses in Spring and service commitment

Essential Functions

Description of Job Duties:
  1. Coordinate, design, and teach the new engineering math courses integral to the undergraduate curricula in Engineering, including, but not limited to: EGR 2302- Linear Algebra for Engineers, EGR 2313-Multivariable Calculus and Series for Engineers, EGR 3423- Differential Equations for Engineers, etc. These courses are gateway courses required for students to advance through their chosen engineering major. Please note that this position encompasses a coordinator role, not just instruction of the courses.
  2. Supervise and guide the Teaching Assistants assigned for these courses.
  3. Collect and analyze student performance data and develop improvement plans for the math engineering courses to ensure student success.
  4. Work alongside the Student Success Center on the tutoring program and collaborate on strategies to support students enrolled in the engineering math courses.
  5. Assess student learning outcomes and collect data for ABET accreditation purposes.
  6. Participate in Academic Innovation instructional workshops and partner with instructional developers.
  7. Collaborate with colleagues in other engineering math sections in curriculum design, instruction and evaluation methods, and to help create innovative strategies for student successful completion of the engineering math course sequence and other engineering courses.

  • Experience with curriculum development, improvement and alignment.
  • Knowledge of and ability to incorporate research-based, student-centered pedagogical methods and technologies into the teaching and learning of mathematics and engineering.
  • Ability to create an engaging and welcoming learning environment for a broad student population.
  • Proficiency in fostering a collegial and collaborative environment, effectively involving faculty, staff, and students.
  • Have participated in engineering education-related research projects.





Required Qualifications
  • MS in an engineering field.




Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in an engineering field.
  • More than one year of teaching experience in higher education.





Additional Information

Anticipated hire is for Fall 2024 with a start date during Summer 2024.

Working Conditions
  • The instructor must be physically present in the classroom to conduct lectures, to administer exams, and for some workshops and meetings. The instructor could potentially teach some sections online.



This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
