Job Description

Provide direct patient care in accordance with Global Medical Response protocols and/or medical direction.

Scheduling and Locale

* Off days consist of one four day block every two week pay period.

* Must live within one hour from Birmingham-Shuttlesworth Airport.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

* Use a systematic, critical-thinking approach to guide patient assessment, intervention, and evaluation of patient outcomes.

* Maintain clinical competence and continuing education for age specific populations in which care is provided.

* Collaborate and effectively communicate with various health care members.

* Attend and participate in base meetings and educational offerings according to established guidelines.

* Execute assigned tasks in an efficient manner and perform in a fast-paced environment.

* Comply with safety standards to assure safety of self, medical and flight personnel, patient, and equipment.

Qualifications

* Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Bachelor of Nursing preferred.

* Minimum of three years recent experience in the critical care setting. Five years preferred.

* Valid nursing license from state of primary practice. Compact license preferred.

* Current driver's license.

* Current passport.

* Current American Heart Association certifications - BLS, ACLS, PALS

* Current Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Provider - or should be obtained within 30 days of hire.

* Transport Provider Advanced Trauma Course (TPATC) preferred - or should be obtained within 1 year of hire date.

* Advanced Certification (CFRN or CTRN) preferred - or should be obtained within 2 years of hire date.
