The Department of Management in the Carlos Alvarez College of Business at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) consists of 27 full-time faculty members and offers undergraduate degrees in management and human resources management and a doctoral degree in management and organization studies. Our faculty and students have been recognized regionally, nationally, and internationally for excellence in both research and teaching.
With over 7,900 students, the Carlos Alvarez College of Business is one of the 40 largest business schools in the nation and offers a comprehensive curriculum at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral level. Accredited by AACSB International, the college was named one of the Top 5 undergraduate business programs in Texas by Bloomberg Businessweek. At the graduate level, the college was ranked the No. 4 Hispanic Serving part-time MBA program in Texas by U.S. News & World Report.

This is a three-year appointment, beginning Fall 2024, with an option to renew after three years.
Salary Range: Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Hours: up to 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions
The Department of Management at the Carlos Alvarez College of Business at The University of Texas at San Antonio invites applications for one Associate or Full Professor of Practice beginning Fall 2024. We welcome candidates with industry and teaching experience in the areas of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship.
Responsibilities include teaching multiple sections of an undergraduate capstone course in strategy, teaching undergraduate entrepreneurship courses, and active participation in departmental, university and community activities. The successful candidate will be expected to teach up to eight courses per year and will be expected to work non-remotely, teaching in-person courses on campus.
The selected candidate will teach multiple sections of an undergraduate Strategic Management Capstone course and classes in Entrepreneurship. Successful applicants will be expected to incorporate experiential learning into their courses.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in Business, Management, Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship or a closely related discipline.
- Experience teaching at the undergraduate level, with evidence of outstanding performance in previous teaching assignments.
- Demonstrated ability to work with, and be sensitive to, the educational needs in support of a broad student population.
- Demonstrated ability and desire to work collegially with faculty and students from a wide range of backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Management, Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship or a closely related discipline.
- Expertise in strategic decision making or entrepreneurship.
- Experience teaching courses incorporating experiential learning.
- Ability to collaborate with current faculty on developing courses.

Working Conditions
