POSITION PURPOSE: Performs all therapist duties, but has specialized skills in effective therapy for trauma survivors focused on helping the survivor maintain safety, manage symptoms, and work through the traumatic experience(s). Proficiency in Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and/or Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) is required for this position. Treatment goals for trauma therapy include: examine the role of the traumatic experience in the context of the person's life, currently and historically, make meaning of the experience, learn skills to manage symptoms and to develop alternative ways of coping, and build or rebuild the ability to trust within a relationship in order to view the world as an increasingly tolerable place to function.

QUALIFICATIONS:
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Excellent written and verbal skills, strong assessment and interpersonal skills. Competency in individual, family and group psychotherapy. Familiarity with TDH standards and commitment process.
EDUCATION: Master's Degree.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: LMSW, LCSW, LPCi, LPC-S, LMFT
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years post licensure experience working with behavioral health population. Minimum of 1 year providing PE, EMDR, and/or CPT to trauma patients. Experience with Military population preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Ability to speak and write.
* Hearing and vision sufficient to perform essential tasks.
* Emotional stability necessary to perform essential functions.
* Ability to perform CPR.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.
