Job Description

The Building People are seeking a qualified Field Verification Technician to support a growing portfolio of federal government, local government, non-profit, and commercial customers - all while operating remotely. The Field Verification Technician will have the following responsibilities:

  • Attend in-person meetings when remote participation is not possible, wherein the meetings will occur on short notice (within one to two hours).
  • Attend one meeting per week, and up to three meetings per week, onsite at government facilities.
  • Accompany assessment vendor on site visits to the identified sites to validate that compliance and assessment requirements are met by walking with the assessors, viewing the data they are taking and how they are documenting the data in accordance with the requirements.
  • Collect field data (inventory and inspection) independent of or with the assessment vendor to validate the data taken by the assessor is in compliance with the contract and assessment requirements.
  • Compare collected data to the uploaded data taken by the assessment vendor into the client database notating any discrepancies which in turn is reported to the client.
  • Report assessment vendor discrepancies found to the client and Quality Assurance Lead.
  • Provide reports and analysis as required by leadership.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
  • Perform field work on-site in both CONUS and OCONUS on trips lasting anywhere from 1-3 weeks.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience and Skills

  • 5+ years of project experience performing infrastructure and facility assessment projects for municipal, state, and Federal entities is preferred.
  • Experience with medical facilities and infrastructure preferred.
  • Knowledge of BUILDER, including inventories, condition assessments and data entry using BUILDER Remote Entry Database (BRED) or other software solution. Project activities can also include obtaining and correlating existing building drawings, team calibration on BUILDER/BRED, preparing data collection devices, assessment of facility exterior, interior, and roof, as well as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Experience working projects in the Federal or Public sector is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum oversight while maintaining schedule discipline.
  • Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to meet tight schedules.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Access, Adobe Acrobat and Internet Explorer (or a comparable internet browser application).

Education and Certifications

  • Candidates shall have a High School diploma.
  • An Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical engineering or equivalent degree from an accredited university is preferred.

  • US Citizenship.
  • Ability to meet Federal & DoD Government security background checks, HSPD-12, Fingerprinting, plus agency-specific screening.
  • Ability to operate within a NIST 800-171 compliant security environment internally and able to support all client-required cyber security data and operational processes. Value and protect company, colleague, and customer data.
  • 2+ years successfully working from home or a remote location, with minimal supervision. Environment must provide adequate workspace and high-speed internet connectivity.
  • Travel may be required for this position based on the company needs of the more remote hiring areas.
