DESCRIPTION
Decypher is seeking Electroencephalogram (EEG) Technicians to support Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (Bethesda, MD)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The contractor employee shall meet education, training, and experience requirements as listed below. All documentation shall be required for review prior to start of work and records regarding licensure, certification, and life support training are to be kept up to date in the Joint Training Record (JTR) folders by the contractor.
  • The contractor employee shall be able to read, write, understand, and speak English clearly to effectively communicate with all patients and other health care providers.
  • Perform Electroencephalogram Testing to determine electrical activity in the brain.
  • Perform patient assessment, past medical history if needed.
  • Obtain patient vital signs.
  • Transfer/store tests performed on local servers for interpretation by HCP.
  • Appropriately utilize aseptic/sterile technique and perform site prep with antiseptic solution.

QUALIFICATIONS

Degree/Education: EEG technicians shall possess a high school diploma or equivalent. In addition, a background with Anatomy and Physiology. WRNMMC will provide on-site training required to sit for The American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) Exam. Cost of the ABRET Exam will not be covered by WRNMMC.

Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: All EEG Technicians shall possess a current, active, valid, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Red Cross (ARC). Proof of BLS verification shall be provided by the contractor prior to beginning work and at renewal date.

Experience: EEG Technicians shall have a minimum of one (1) year of basic medical experience. The contract cardiovascular technician shall be proficient on the selection and placement of leads to detect electrical brain activity.
