This role is based in the Regenerative Medicine research department which is dedicated to developing world-class products for people with autoimmune and degenerative diseases. We do groundbreaking research in the field of regenerative processes, using cutting edge techniques to understand tissue injury and regeneration. The Opportunity:

As an integrated part of our department, your main focus will be to provide hands-on contributions to the understanding of tissue injury and regeneration of endocrine organs, in the context of homeostasis, aging, and Type 1 Diabetes.

  • You are investigating fundamental processes underlying tissue injury and regeneration, emphasizing cell plasticity and other regenerative strategies.

  • You are utilizing in vivo, in vitro, and ex vivo model systems to discover novel pathways and processes involved in autoimmune, age-related, inflammatory or degenerative diseases.

  • You are developing and leading projects to identify and characterize novel biological insights with the ultimate goal of advancing regenerative therapies.

  • You are collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams across Genentech to enhance cross-functional cooperation and achieve research objectives.

Who you are:

  • You are a creative, motivated and independent scientist.

  • You hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. in molecular, cellular, developmental, or stem cell biology, immunology, biochemistry or related disciplines.

  • You have demonstrated success through first author publications or other quantifiable achievements.

  • You are proficient with cell culture systems and animal models.

  • You are excellent in communication, problem-solving and teamwork.

Preferred:

  • Expertise in stem cell biology, regeneration, cell plasticity, and cellular reprogramming.

  • Background in pancreas and/or beta cell biology and experience with histological techniques.

  • Proficiency in culturing 2D and 3D murine/human organoids, iPSCs, endoderm differentiation protocols and cellular biology techniques.

  • Experience genome editing, cellular reprogramming, gene therapy tools (AAV) and cell therapy.

  • Experience with autoimmunity models.

  • Ability to conduct and analyze genomic perturbation screens and next-generation sequencing datasets.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Primary Location State is insert $100,200 and $186,000 of hiring range. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
